Questions and Answers
Q: Now that the weather is really
turning colder, do you have any suggestions for how
to dress to walk/job in these times of variable weather?
In colder weather, it is important to layer your
clothing. Here's a good tip for deciding how much
to put on: If you're warm as you head out the door,
you're probably overdressed. You should feel a little
chilly at first but fairly comfortable after 2-5 minutes
of exercise.
Also, when layering, the fabrics closest to your
skin should draw sweat away from your body, so choose
polypropylene or acrylic blends. On very cold days,
don't forget a hat — you lose a lot of body
heat through your head if you don't — and keep
your hands, feet and face protected.
