BOARD CERTIFICATION
Mr. Blakely is a Board Certified Clinical Specialist
in Orthopedic Physical Therapy (OCS), and as such
is a specialist in the evaluation and treatment of
orthopedic-related injuries. Specialty Certification
identifies and verifies those physical therapists
that are committed to clinical excellence in their
chosen area. After a strict qualification process,
applicants must then pass an 8- hour certification
exam administered by the National Board of Medical
Examiners. To maintain the certified specialist designation,
individuals must re-certify every 10 years. Currently,
only 2% of the physical therapists in North Carolina
and 1% nation-wide have achieved Board Certified status.
Areas
of Interest
While attending USF, Mr. Blakely was
a five-time Academic All-American in track and cross-country
and captain of the track team for two years. Additionally,
he was involved in the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
He continues to be active in a variety of sports in
the community.
Mr. Blakely also enjoys participating in community
education programs and often gives of his time to
speak to community groups on a variety of health and
fitness-related topics.
Professionally, Mr. Blakely has participated in extensive
continuing education programs related to orthopedic
physical therapy.
