Dr. Mark Blakely PT, OCS

Board Certification
Dr. Blakely is a Board Certified Clinical Specialist in Orthopedic Physical Therapy (OCS), and as such is a specialist in the evaluation and treatment of orthopedic-related injuries. Specialty Certification identifies and verifies those physical therapists that are committed to clinical excellence in their chosen area. After a strict qualification process; applicants must then pass an 8- hour certification exam administered by the National Board of Medical Examiners. To maintain the certified specialist designation, individuals must re-certify every 10 years. Currently, only 2% of the physical therapists in North Carolina and 1% nation-wide have achieved Board Certified status.

Areas of Interest
While attending USF, Dr. Blakely was a five-time Academic All-American in track and cross-country and captain of the track team for two years. Additionally, he was involved in the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. He continues to be active in a variety of sports in the community.

Dr. Blakely also enjoys participating in community education programs and often gives of his time to speak to community groups on a variety of health and fitness-related topics.  Additionally, Dr. Blakely coordinates our annual Summer Speed Training Program for middle and high school athletes.

Professionally, Dr. Blakely has participated in extensive continuing education programs related to orthopedic physical therapy.
